Saudi Arabia has taken a major step to support Pakistan’s social development by signing $121 million consultancy contracts for health and energy projects. These initiatives aim to deliver tangible benefits to thousands of Pakistani citizens while strengthening bilateral ties.

The King Salman Hospital in Tarlai will receive a $20 million grant to improve medical services, upgrade facilities, and expand access to quality healthcare. For many residents, this means faster, safer, and more advanced treatment options.

On the energy front, Saudi Arabia is funding Shounter ($66 million) and Jagran ($35 million) hydropower projects through concessional loans. These initiatives will increase renewable energy supply, promote sustainability, and create reliable electricity access for local communities.

Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki highlighted the depth of Saudi-Pakistan relations, describing these projects as a continuation of decades of cooperation. Pakistan’s Dr. Kazim Niaz praised Riyadh’s transformative role, noting previous grants of $533 million and concessional loans of $1.2 billion that have already improved infrastructure, healthcare, and energy access.
