MIPCOM CANNES Announces Major YouTube Presence in 2025

YouTube will make its debut with a major presence at the upcoming 41st edition of MIPCOM CANNES, the world’s largest market for television and streaming content, taking place from 13–16 October 2025. This milestone coincides with YouTube’s 20th anniversary and signals a bold step in strengthening its ties with the global television industry.

For its first appearance, YouTube will host several high-profile activations, including the YouTube Space, a dedicated branded hospitality hub at the Palais des Festivals. Pedro Pina, VP YouTube EMEA, will deliver a Headliner Keynote in the Grand Auditorium, and the platform will run daily workshops and hosted events across both MIPCOM CANNES and MIPJUNIOR (11–12 October), celebrating two decades of innovation in content creation and distribution.

The Global Creator Economy in Focus at MIPCOM CANNES 2025

The creator economy will be the central theme of this year’s market, and YouTube’s participation aligns with a series of new initiatives designed to foster connections and unlock new opportunities between digital creators, traditional television producers, platforms, distributors, and brands.

Key highlights include:

  • The first international edition of BrandStorytelling, the acclaimed brand-funded content summit held annually at the Sundance Film Festival. Taking place on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 October, the MIPCOM CANNES version will unite brands, digital content creators, and TV creatives to showcase new brand-driven storytelling and successful case studies from concept to completion.
  • The reimagined MIP CREATIVE HUB on Croisette Beach, formerly known as the PRODUCERS HUB, will serve as the main networking hub for creatives. This space will be enhanced to support collaboration among creators, digital studios, and brands, offering more meeting opportunities and a curated programme designed to drive co-productions and innovative partnerships.
  • An expanded MIP INNOVATION LAB at the Palais des Festivals, featuring a theatre, networking areas, and demo space. Returning summits will cover key areas like AI, FAST channels, streaming, and Connected TV. A new YouTube-led workshop series will focus on audience growth, monetisation strategies, and format innovation, helping companies stay ahead in rapidly changing sectors.

A Strategic Move for the Industry

“2025 is undoubtedly the year of the global creator economy, and we are proud to welcome YouTube during its 20th anniversary as they further expand their partnerships across the international television landscape,” said Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM CANNES and MIPJUNIOR. “MIPCOM is where the industry comes together, and as the largest global market for TV and streaming content, it provides a unique platform each October in Cannes to unite creators, digital studios, platforms, and brands with the biggest players in entertainment.”

Pedro Pina, VP YouTube EMEA, commented: “This MIPCOM CANNES partnership marks a significant milestone as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. It’s a strategic move to bolster our international TV collaborations and demonstrate YouTube’s role in supporting media companies amidst evolving content consumption.”

Attracting over 10,500 delegates from more than 100 countries in 2024, MIPCOM CANNES remains the world’s premier event for television and streaming content, offering a week-long programme that continues to shape the global media calendar.
