Competition. It was an evening filled with excitement and inspiration, showcasing the remarkable talents of young individuals from the PACA region.

Moteur! stands as a beacon of opportunity, striving to level the playing field for youth from all walks of life. Since its inception in 2017, the project has been dedicated to igniting passion and confidence in young hearts, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and embrace their unique potential.

At the heart of Moteur! lies an annual competition inviting participants aged 14 to 22 to create a 1-minute film celebrating someone who has had a profound impact on their lives. Through this process of gratitude and storytelling, participants not only honor their mentors but also embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

Under the guidance of Jonathan Cohen, the 8th edition of the Moteur! Competition is currently underway, accepting submissions until April 1st, 2024.

In a groundbreaking move, Moteur! introduced its inaugural Campus of Confidence, an enriching retreat tailored for youth from the PACA region. From February 26th to 29th, 2024, the National Theatre of Nice, led by the esteemed Muriel Mayette-Holtz, welcomed fourteen exceptional participants from the region who had previously participated in the 2023 Moteur! Competition.

The Campus of Confidence provided a nurturing environment for participants to engage in workshops exploring slam poetry, physical expression, and theater. Additionally, cultural excursions and immersive experiences, including a vibrant exploration of the local carnival, enriched the participants' journey. Throughout the program, participants were guided by the talented Jacky Ido, a respected actor, director, and slam poet, as well as by the esteemed TNN theater troupe. They also had the privilege of interacting with Emma Clair Dumont, the 13th Frenchwoman to conquer Mount Everest, whose inspiring story further fueled their aspirations.

Following the conclusion of the 8th edition of the Competition, 25 deserving laureates will have the honor of attending the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. There, they will receive the coveted Moteur! Golden Clap from Thierry Frémaux, the Festival's General Delegate, and will partake in an official screening of the 77th edition. Additionally, their portraits will be prominently displayed in XXL format at the Cannes Train Station, celebrating their achievements for all to see.

The evening of February 28th was a celebration of talent and resilience as the National Theatre of Nice came alive with vibrant performances and heartfelt expressions. The event featured engaging presentations by the Moteur! team, insightful speeches from esteemed partners, including Ragni and the City of Nice, captivating film screenings showcasing the works of young Moteur! participants, and dynamic slam poetry performances by the talented youth from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, led by the charismatic Jacky Ido.

In attendance were the participants themselves, alongside Muriel Mayette-Holtz, the director of TNN, and Caroline Sénéclauze, the president of Moteur!.
